Why Wind

Throughout Wisconsin, interest and support for renewable energy production is reflected in the mandate, recently passed by the State Legislature and signed by Governor Doyle, which requires that 10% of energy used in WI come from renewable resources by 2015. On the national front, the Production Tax Credit hasĀ been extended by Congress for 2008. The Senate has passed a renewal for next year and awaits action from the House of Representatives. This allows for the continued growth of wind energy production projects throughout the nation.

Our efforts to bring wind energy production to Door County remain important in providing a sustainable framework to benefit our local community and future generations.

The issues influencing us globally are impacting us here at home, locally.

Everyone has a vital role and responsibility to provide for a stable energy future, maintain our rural landscape, and strengthen our local communities.

CWE believes that bringing wind energy production to Door County fulfills that mission.

We hope you think so too!
