HELPING THE LOCAL ECONOMY

Farmers gain income to maintain farming with another crop; wind.
It is our chosen business plan to reinvest the profits from our venture, back into the local economy, to the benefit of our local community through grants and gifts of renewable energy systems to local hospital(s), charitable, service and school organizations.
We hope to strengthen our local community.
We also plan to voluntarily participate in revenue sharing with the local unit(s) of government.
An increase in local job creation is a valuable byproduct in the switch to renewable energy.

Local developers demonstrate a stronger commitment to the community and have a positive impact that counters the principles of outside developments. CWE believes that local people are crucial in maintaining local control of any development. Local ownership of this project remains a priority so that revenues remain in the local economy.

SITE ASSESSMENTS
CWE has visited with over 100 local landowners in Door County who control a total of over 15,000 acres of land. The list of landowners keeps growing, and there is widespread support for wind energy production amongst those visited.
These site assessments illustrate the compatibility of common land use and wind energy production.
If you or someone you know wishes to have CWE conduct a site assessment, please contact Chris Olson at 920.746.4008 or chris@communitywindenergy.us
